Terms of service

Plain-language terms for using SortedQR. Last updated 26 October 2026.

Draft for review. Items in [brackets] need the business details, and this page needs a legal check before launch.

The service

SortedQR lets you create QR codes. A free QR works for 2 days from its download. It cannot be edited, extended or upgraded. A Locked code is a one-time purchase that stores everything inside the image, with one download. An Editable code is a one-time purchase of a hosted short link that you can change with a code sent to your linked email.

Prices and tax

Prices are in US dollars. Tax is added at checkout where your country requires it, and shown before you pay. Business buyers can enter a tax ID. Where the law allows, tax is then not charged and you account for it yourself.

"Forever" means

Locked codes never depend on our servers. Editable links stay active for as long as SortedQR operates, with no renewal fee. If we ever close the service we will give at least [12 months] notice. [Founder to confirm.]

Acceptable use

Do not use SortedQR for phishing, malware, scams, illegal content, or to impersonate someone else. We check Editable destinations and may disable a link that breaks these rules, without refund.

Your content

You are responsible for the details and links you put in a code and for checking the code scans before you print it. Our live scan check is a guide, not a guarantee for every printer and phone.

Linked email

The linked email is the key to an Editable code and cannot be changed online. If you lose access to it, contact [email protected] and we will verify ownership before moving it.

Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other consumer laws that apply to you. Otherwise, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the code concerned.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will not change the price or lifetime of a code you have already bought.
